Vesuvio III is an extension of my previous works, Vesuvio I and Vesuvio II. It represents a simplified view of a door, symbolizing the transition into a new era or the exit from the one I was in at that time. The painting is predominantly monochromatic blue, conveying a sense of calm and introspection, while the door itself stands as a metaphor for change or passage. The simplicity of the composition contrasts with the deeper, symbolic message behind the transition, marking a significant point in both my artistic and personal journey. This piece is also part of my ongoing experiment with different canvas formats. I’ve been exploring various sizes and dimensions to better understand how I can shape compositions and proportions, and how these different formats influence my process of organizing and forming the artwork.
